In this critical time, while facing unimaginable disasters of pandemic-created public health and economic crises, we are imprisoned in our homes. We feel depressed, anxious, worried about uncertainties and our future. It is impossible not to think about aforementioned questions and about the immense power Mother Nature displayed because of the misuse of resources of Mother Earth. By ignoring scientific facts, dangerous climate and environmental changes are occurring.
I believe this is the right time to think about and investigate this deadly pandemic. Learning why it happened, how and who is responsible so that we can learn our lessons to prevent similar disasters in the future and prepare for them in advance.
The most important question to ask here is if shameful void of world leadership have anything to do with this horrible crises we are in?
I don’t like passing judgment on world leaders. I would just like to describe the mindset, personality characteristics and behavior patternsof certain people with NPD (Narcotic Personality Disorders) so that readers can decide for themselves.
Very few people with NPD who possess a charismatic, well spoken, energy laden and delusional personality disorder can reach their goal of getting elected to the most powerful position in their land. Because they know very well that they can thrive in position of power. They accomplish this by using their tool kit of demagogy, complacency, fake news, persuasion, propaganda and the promises to create an aura of a bright future for everyone. They have no empathy toward anyone or any event. They are always domineering and egocentric. Their disordered mind harbors delusional ideas about their own capabilities and accomplishments. They think they know everything. They believe their own opinions, ”gut feelings” and instincts rather than scientific facts. They are control freaks and micromanage everything.
They can’t handle the truth or any criticism and are very thin skinned. They surround themselves with mediocre “yes men,” cronies and family members. They make up their facts and believe they are telling the truth when they obsessively lie about things. They have exaggerated sense of their accomplishments and they think they are above the law. They focus on projecting power and want be on the front page of any news organization, on a daily basis. They need constant attention and praise. Without realizing it, they jeopardize our democracy, our established moral, ethical, judicial and scientific codes.
Who else do you think, with a normal mind, would want to take on the awesome responsibilities to become a lifetime leader of a major nation? We all know from history that power, without checks and balances, corrupts. As famous saying goes, ”power corrupts, absolute power absolutely corrupts.”
Since Coronavirus originated in China, critics blame the Chinese Communist Party’s autocratic leadership for concealing this deadly new viral infection from its people and the world. Critical few months were lost until the World Health Organization was notified with an oversimplified narrative. Therefore, the WHO acted slowly until they realized the gravity of this epidemic turning into a deadly pandemic. More time was lost to sound the alarm. Consequently, all nations of the world were caught unprepared.
Across the globe, a backlash is building against the Chinese Government for its initial mishandling, incompetence and lack of early warning about the virus that all unfortunately helped unleash Coronavirus in the world.
Presently, American government officials also share the blame for downplaying the seriousness of this deadly pandemic, equating it to a flu, until it was too late. This is why America and the world are faced this deadly pandemic unprepared, with devastating public health and economic crises.
I believe the world would remain in this crises mode for a long time, until effective anti-viral drugs and vaccination are discovered.
To me, the reason there is no united global response to this global enemy is because of the nationalistic mindset of megalomaniac world leaders’ fear of losing their power grip.
A post-Coronavirus world is never going to be the same. The world is changing, as it always does. Nothing remains the same. There are going to be many new normals.
The leading major industries are already talking about the automatization of manufacturing and assembly lines with robots because machines don’t ever get viral infections and stop production.
The main question is are we going to lose of our democracy and freedoms? The pandemic crises gave more power of control our lives to the dictators and autocratic regimes of the world, and caused a raise in right-wing extremism.
I am hoping that we all will learn lessons and come out of this crises with a renewed sense of responsibility, cooperation, wisdom and insight to find better and new ways to manage our world. As well as to protect the democracy and freedoms all over the world. We are interconnected and the world is belong to all of us.
